Homework Assignment #1
Well, we survived the first class. Thank you everyone for showing up and for your patience and sense of humor. We talked about some of the hardware, and briefly discussed the purpose of some of the different components of the computer. The main thing that I hope that you all got out of the class was how to access the different drives on the computer by double clicking the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Also you should now be able to make new folders on those drives.
I created a document called "how to create a new folder" that will help you with the following assignment. Click here to download it. You can print this document if you like, or just read it on the screen. Your homework is to create a new folder on the hard drive of your computer called "computer class." Then make 2 new folders inside that folder called "documents" and "images." After you make these folders on the hard drive, insert your floppy disk (I put them in your boxes). Repeat this process creating these folders on the floppy disk also. You can access the floppy disk by double clicking on the floppy icon in the "my computer" window. If you need help with this, feel free to grab Rafael or myself before the next class. Please bring this floppy disk to class next week along with a binder.
